Scheduling an Eye Exam
During your appointment, our eye doctors will assess your overall eye health and vision and address any concerns or questions you may have about your eyes.
What to remember for your eye exam
When you schedule an eye exam at Seacoast Vision Care, there are a few key things to remember.
- Know your medical history and list of current medications: If you have any existing medical conditions or take medications that may affect your eyesight, please let our eye doctor know.
- Be prepared to discuss your current symptoms: Make note of any changes in your vision or any issues you may be experiencing, such as dry eyes or frequent headaches. This information will be useful when our doctors evaluate your eye health. It’s also important to have a list of questions prepared for your appointment so that you can discuss any concerns you may have about your vision or eye health.
- Know your family history of eye conditions: Many eye conditions can be passed down genetically, which is why our optometrist asks about your family history during an eye exam.
- Ask about insurance coverage and payment options: Depending on the reason for your visit, your eye exam may be billed to your vision plan or medical insurance. You can find a list of accepted insurance providers and payment options on our Insurance & Payment page. Please let us know if you need help verifying your coverage or have any questions before your appointment.
- Bring all necessary documentation: Remember to bring your insurance card, photo ID, and payment method if needed. If you are a new patient, please bring your most recent prescription for contact lenses or glasses as well.
- Bring corrective eyewear: Be sure to bring along any eyeglasses or contact lenses that you currently wear. This will allow our eye doctors to evaluate how well your current prescription is working for you and determine if any adjustments need to be made.
Cancellation | No show policy
Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your scheduled appointment. By giving us advance notice of any changes to your appointment, you allow us to fill that time slot with another patient who may need our services. If you fail to give us proper notice or do not show up for your scheduled appointment, you will be subject to a $50 fee that must be paid before being seen in our office again. It’s important to note that insurance providers do not cover fees for missed appointments.
