Samantha Klemann, O.D.

Dr. Samantha Klemann is an optometrist at Seacoast Vision Care in Scarborough, Maine. She was born and raised in Minnesota and attended St. Olaf College, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. During her time at St. Olaf, she conducted undergraduate research that resulted in a peer-reviewed publication and was actively involved in campus leadership and athletics, competing on both the women’s ice hockey and golf teams.

Dr. Klemann is passionate about patient-centered, evidence-based care and values the opportunity to educate patients on the connection between ocular and systemic health. Her clinical interests include dry eye disease, anterior segment care, and public-health–driven approaches to improving access to vision care.

In 2025, Dr. Klemann graduated summa cum laude from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with a dual Doctor of Optometry and Master of Public Health degree. She served as the Salutatorian of her graduating class and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Sigma Kappa honor societies. While at MCPHS, she held multiple leadership positions and received the Academic Excellence Award in Optometric Theory & Methods.

After graduation, Dr. Klemann completed her residency at Eyesight Ophthalmic Services in New Hampshire, where she trained extensively in anterior segment and corneal disease, specialty contact lenses, dry eye management, and refractive surgery co-management. She has evaluated and managed patients with a wide range of visual and ocular health conditions, including glaucoma, corneal pathology, and severe dry eye disease. In addition to her clinical work, she led journal club discussions for fourth-year optometry students and participated in a variety of scholarly and mentoring activities.

Now residing in the Southern Maine Coast, Dr. Klemann enjoys trying new restaurants and coffee shops with her fiancé Greg, staying active in barre and pilates workout classes, exploring trails and parks with her dog Charlie, and spending time with other family and friends. She continues to carry forward her lifelong love of athletics and the outdoors.
